Most people in power abuse that privelge to cover up the truth to protect themselves. They deny the truth to the public because they know it would cause scandels and their careers would most likely be over. So therefore, anyone who comes forth with the truth, they would accuse them of libel. Basically, the greater the truth, the greater the libel, its as simple as that. In my life, my mother usually " thinks" that she's always right but most of the times she's not. I do not like the fact that when we argue, my mom always has to have the last word. She's my mother afterall, what can i do.

Oil spill
On wednesday night, governemnt officals confirmed that oil might be leaking from a well in the Gulf of Mexico. Suprisingly, the oil is leaking at a rate of five thousand barrels a day. If that isn't frightening, i don't know what is. It is polluting the oceans, which causes a huge problem to our environment. On the other hand, the oil spill is affecting our wildlife. Animals are dying and that devastates me because I love animals and I don't like the thought of then being endangered. I understand that our president is doing everything in his power to help the situation, however he needs to do more. What if all the sea animals became extinct, what will happen then? The oil spill is causing destruction to our surroundings and wildlife and we need and as a community we need to lend a helping hand. I want this to end, so please help in any way possible. It's the little things we do that makes a big difference.

I want to go on a crusie man, i just hope my parents will let me go. If i don't pass the regents my summer is gonna be so screwed up and that means no fun for me. So i gotta focus on passing and then on fun. i Can't wait!

Pizza!
At the party on Friday, I had two slices of pizza. It was pure cheesy goodness. The pizzas were not too small nor too big, just right in the middle. There were pepperoni, pineapple, sausage and cheese pizzas. I however, ate the cheese pizza, which tasted superb. The crust was my favorite part because it was crispy and delicious. I had no complains whatsoever. The food was simply exceptional.

New Experiences
-Uno e Bino (San Lorenzo, Rome/ Five stars)
Dish- Parmesan Soufflé
- Casiano's (San Jose del Cabo/4.9 stars)
Dish- The Spontaneous Cuisine
- Casa Leopoldo (Barcelona)
Dish- Tomato and garlic bread
- La Yola (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic)
Dish- spicy tuna tartare with guacamole relish
- Zozo's Ristorante (U.S Virgin Islands/ 4.8 stars)
Dish: mahimahi with a pistachio crust/ arugula salad)
It all began in San Lorenzo, Rome one of the most breath taking cities in the world. I was captivated by its beautiful resorts, buildings and arts. I knew it couldn’t get any better than this. The people were so warm and friendly towards me, almost like they were my own family. I visited the Uno e Bino and I had the Parmesan SoufflĂ©. It was so light, yet so delicious. I knew I had to get a second serving because it was that well done. I met with the chef to compliment him on the food and I could tell that he was a very stand up guy. The waiters and the chef told me to come again and believe me I will be going there again!
On the second day of my food adventure, I visited Casiano's in San Jose Del Cabo. When I got there it was late in the afternoon and the sun was setting. The view astounded me and in that moment I wished I could live there forever. As I entered the restaurant the waiter pointed me to a table on the outside deck. There were palm trees everywhere and in my opinion, that made Casiano's more welcoming and cozy. When the waiter gave me my menu, I ordered right away because I was starving and I needed food! I ordered the spontaneous Cuisine, which consisted of seafood. There were different types of fish and shrimps and on the side there were fruits. The meal was delightful and when I finished my tummy was extremely full. The food was perfect, I had no complains at all. Bravo, Casiano's!
Next, my friends tagged along on my mini get away to Barcelona. Oh my, I had heard so many intriguing stories about this lovely city. As we awaited our arrival, I sipped on champagne, which was not very good, but the chocolate tasted like heaven. It was only the best of course, Godiva! Finally, after fifteen hours of traveling, we made it. The first thought on all of our minds were food. So my comrades and I hit town in search of a superb restaurant! The restaurant we discovered was Casa Leopoldo. It appeared like one of those houses in the fairytales, spacious and extravagant. It was exactly what we desired. As the waiter approached, he gave us a basket of tomato and garlic bread. It was absolutely amazing! We repeatedly ordered baskets of the delicious garlic bread, that when it was time to have dinner, we were already stuffed. So we decided to take it back to our hotel because there was no way my friends were going to throw it away.
Our fourth hot spot was Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Beaches, beaches, beaches, that was the most important thing that was on my mind, well with the exception of food. The drinks were refreshing and tasty. After having a little fun in the sun (playing volleyball), my friends and I were exhausted so we went to grab a bite at La Yola. I should probably tell you that La Yola is my best friend’s grandmother's place and the food is flavorful! I ordered my favorite dish of all, the spicy tuna tartar with guacamole relish. I guarantee that you will love this dish because the tuna is appetizing! Then, when we were finished stuffing our faces, my friends went swimming and I went to my hotel room and took a long nap.
On the last day of my food expedition, I dragged my friends along to the Virgin Islands. You haven't seen a magnificent place until you have seen the U.S Virgin Islands. The beaches are alluring and the water is just so calm and relaxing. I take it all in because I know I wouldn't be back here for a long while. I visited the Zozo's ristorante because I heard it was the best restaurant in town. When I entered through the front door, I knew that I had to try something different. My sister had told me that the mahimahi was great, so I thought I would have that. Let me tell you that the mahimahi was everything my sister described and even some more. The pistachio crust was the perfect topping of all. The arugula salad made it all the better because it was fresh and tastey.
So it is day six and my food adventure has come to an end. It was a wonderful journey that i will never forget. I hope that you will all visit these places atleast once in your lifetime because it is definitely worth it. Goodbye!

Red Lobster
Let me start off by saying that red lobster is my favorite restaurant. There service is great, (at least I think so) and there food is exquisite. Red lobster is mostly a seafood restaurant, but they do have other dishes for chicken or beef lovers. Personally, I am a seafood lover and every time I go to any red lobsters I come out very satisfied. Some of their dishes are garlic cream shrimp, wood grilled pecan- crusted shrimp, and you can even create your own feast. How fantastic is that? My favorite dish at red lobster is their salmon. It's so succulent and delicious. Believe me you will want to savor every single bite. Another thing I love about red lobster is their bread. Oh- my- goodness, their bread is delicate and cheesy. You might just end up eating the entire basket. That is how enjoyable they are. In my opinion, I would rate this restaurant a 5/5.

Rima Fakih
First, it was stated that Rima Fakih shouldn't have been crowned Miss U.S.A because she is Muslim. Can you believe how outrageous that is? No one should be judged based on their religious beliefs. It's not fair to those people, but then again we are talking about America here? Then, in most recent news there were photos of Rima Fakih taking part in a pole dancing contest. In my opinion, it was three years ago and people should stop making this so controversial. I despise the fact that the media would do anything to get a good story or hinder a person's success. Everyone makes mistakes, it's only human nature and therefore, they should back off. Not that I think they will but I would hope that they would do the right thing. In time this story will die away and for the time being, Rima Fakih should hold her head up high and defend herself against the public slur.

However, i have'nt created a theme as yet and that is the important part. I hope its comes out good because i worked hard on it. well, goodbye bloggers.

stabbing
So i arrived at school today and found out that two kids were stabbed. Apparently, the jamician kid stabbed the latino kid. It scares the crap out of me because it can happen to anyone at anytime. That is why i cannot wait to graduate from Van Buren. It is way too much drama and problems in this school and i have had about enough of all this. You can gurantee that you will be safe at school and i don't like that... AT ALL! Just two more years to go and i am out of here. Bye bye Bloggers!

A Muslim condemns those who have Hijacked the Faith of Islam
Dear Editor,
Naseem Mahdi made many excellent points and remarks in the interview for foxx news. I happen to agree with most of them. Mr. Mahdi explained that people of the muslim religion should not be promoting hatred and danger in America or anywhere else. He explains that muslims should be loyal to the country they live in, which many are not." The Prophet Mohammed has said love of homeland is part of faith. So how could i think otherwise. If i live in the United States this is my religious duty. This is painful to me-- that people are living in the most beautiful country in the world, getting all of its benefits and then they are saying they are not loyal to this country? Thats not only against religion, its against common courtesy." He touched upon a good point here because most terrorists whom live among us, reap benefits of living in the U.S, yet they want to destroy our country? How is that even right?
I agree that if someone's loyalties lie somewhere else, that's where they need to be. They shouldnt be able to live in our country and work against us. That is just evil and wrong on every level. Muslim terrorists makes it worst for innocent muslim citizens because they are often being critized and judged becaue of their religion. i wish that this would all end but i know it's not that simple. I hope that atleast they will be able to find these terrorists before it's too late.
Sincerely,
Venetia Persaud

Unemployment- A long hot summer
Dear editor,
Schools are going to be out soon and we are in desperate need of summer jobs. After reading your article, i agree with your views on summer jobs for teens. I can empathsize because i need a summer job as well and it is very difficult to find one. Congree needs to do something about this because teenagers need the money and they also need something to do over the summer. It will keep teens off the streets. I was actually suprised that summer jobs started declinging before the recession. I thought it might have been after.
On the other hand, many teenagers live in poor rundown neighborhoods and communties and they need the money. I was glad that you actually mentioned that in your article because most people would have never thought that teenagers have responsibilities and duties to uphold. i would really appreciate if congress would create more summer jobs and help the employment rate rise. It would be such a relief to find a job this summer like most teenagers would want too. So thank you for your moral support. Us teenagers really appreciate it!
Yours truly,
Venetia Persaud

A taste of terror to come
Dear Editor,
First and foremost, i agree with your arguement because their was a car bomb just this past saturday in Times Square and now President Obama wants to hold terror trials downtown. Isn't that a tad bit too absurd? He would basically be giving terrorists a free pass to attack in downtown Manhattan. People will be terrified to leave their houses to go to work and school. What scares me the most is that their are terrorists out there, planning their next attack on New York. You never know what can and will happen tommorow.
on the other hand, you couldn't be more right about New York being a top target for terrorits. They despise us and that's beasically it. They don't care if innocent victims get hurt or die. For years, New York has been the center of many attacks, like 911, which happens to be a major one. However, i am not suprise that terrorists would want to attack us because we did do alot of wrong in the past. Many Americans Feel as if we have never done any wrong, but their niaive because we have done alot. its just sad that us victims have to pay for our country's mistakes and that means that we will probably suffer in the long run.

Tribeca isn't the only game in town- a little film festival sprouts in the heart of Manhattan
Dear Editor,
After reading your editorial about the Sprout Film Festival and how it benefits people with disabilities, i couldn't have explained it any better. This film festival is a little different than the Tribecca Film Festival, but nevertheless it is substantial. I believe that this event will break the barriers of stereotypes because many people are treated differently when found out that they have a disease. Its just plain wrong! " According to the Census Bureau, six million Americans have developmental disabilities." That is why they are the subjects of the films at the Sprout Film Festival.
We all know that people with disabilities or even diseases do not receive the same treatment as other citizens, and to actually have someone doing something about it makes me very grateful. In my opinion, people should be able to see pass the disabilities a person have and focus on there character and who they are. I think that pitying someone because their suffering from a disease makes them feel very low about themselves and they shouldn't be feeling that way. They deserve a fair chance at everything like anyone else because i feel that it motivates them to keep fighting their battles that they have to deal with on a daily basis. I cannot empathize with a disabled person, but i can definitely say that they inspire me, not because their fighting for their lives, but because their fighting to belong, to fit in like everyone else. They didn't stop living and if that's not a motivation and i don't know what is. That is why it is necessary to go to this film festival because it shows your support for people with developmental disabilities. It will prove a lot that you came out to celebrate their success. One step at a time we will be able to break all barriers of stereotypes. But it's the little things we do that makes a huge difference. I enjoyed your article very much and i thank-you for supporting disabled people!

what would you do if you could'nt sleep?
Sometimes I find myself not sleeping at night and I guess it's because I overthink too much. Then, in the morning i am wide awake, but midway I become very tired. I hope that this is normal. So one night, I was attempting to sleep, but unfortunately I couldn't and that was when the question sparked my attention. What would you do if you never slept? Mhm.. I'll bet that would be very interesting, but I wonder if I would ever get tired.
On the other hand, their is so much that I would do if I never slept. Well, for starters I would read forever. Book after book and never get sleepy. How aweasome is that? However, their are down sides to never sleeping. For instance, when everyone would be sleeping, I would be wide awake and devastatingly bored. What would I do then?
Finally, there are many things you can accomplish, while everyone else is sleeping. You can do your homework, chores and anything else you would want to do. Think how incredible it would be, to be ahead of everyone in school, work, etc. If I had this choice, I would say yes. What would you say?

Childhood fears
As a child i had many fears, some of whcih you might find ridiculous, but they're all true. When growing up, i was terrified of dogs, clowns, the graveyard, and porecelin dolls. Sadly, some of these fears remains with me today. I believe that i was scared of dogs because i grew up with so many and they would chase after me. I remember running to my mother, with tears shrieking down my cheek, shouting on the top of my lungs " that bad dog is gonna bite me" and my mother would just stand there laughing. That particular memory is so vivid in my mind.
Another fear of mine are clowns. I think it's their striking yet frightening smile that scares me. That is why i never went to the circus..EVER! When i see a clown i think about the movie "It", and that's not such a good combination. Maybe one day i will get over this fear because it seems so silly.

What would you do if you were the last person on earth
What would you do if you were the last person on this planet? How would you survive if their was no civilization? Would you cope by yourself or would you explore the remains on earth?
This question has many answers, so there are'nt any right or wrong answer. Hypotheically, if i were the last person on earth, i would explore what's still out there. You never know, their just might be people alive and well. Also, i would go in seach of food and water. Hopefully if i am lucky i would find supplies to survive. Most importantly, i would need a place to sleeep, whcih means i would need to find a shleter, or maybe even build one. Living all by myself would surely be torture because their would be no one to talk too. I might just start talking to myself and when i get so sick of it all, i might committ suicide. The End.
So tell me what you would do if you were in this position and life became so boring and unbearable?

A full face transplant
While browsing for articles, i came across a very intriguying story about a man who recieved a full face transplant. According to the article, the anonymous man was in an accident five years ago and he lost his face. That was actually very shocking because i never heard anything like that before. However, a hospital in Madrid, Spain performed the surgery and suceeded. They gave him a new nose, cheeckbones, teeth, skin, jaws, and other features. The hospital would not reveal the man's name, or details of his accident five years ago, but they did say that he was a spaniard between the ages of 20 and 40. The man is expected to be hospitalized for two months.
In my opinion, this was a very miraculous story. I enjoyed reading this article because i never heard of a full face transplant before. On the other hand, i am so happy that this man can have a face again and i hope that he has a full recovery. It is just wonderful that we have the technology to do great things in the world.

The latest on Kate Gosselin.
kate Gosselin was voted off dancing with the stars tuesday April 20, 2010. According to Good Morning America, Kate stated, "I was sad that it was me, but i was happy that it was me...it needed to be me." I think that Kate saw this coming and she was awaiting her send off. Who didn't see this in the works? I think that kate Gosselin worked hard on the show and she did well, but with all the media attention and controversy, i knew that she would be going home eventually.
Although, she was voted off, Kate can now go home to her eight children. That is one good that came of her elimination. I am not a huge fan of Kate Gosselin, but i can sympathsize with her because her life has been disrupted by all the media attention. The paparazzi follow Kate and her children around, which is just sad. Her children should have a normal childhood, without the media trailing afer them. On the other hand, i feel that kate's ex-husband, John Gosselin makes the situation even greater because he loves the attention the paparazzi gives him. It seems like their is always something going on with him and he is always their answering the media's questions. However, i hope that everything works out for the Gosselin's and i hope that they have a wonderful life, espescially the children.

"Don't judge a book by it's cover"
This is one of the most over used phrases and it happens to be very typical in our society today. Everyone throws it around like it's just some regular words, but little do they know, it means alot more. Children, teenagers, men, women, they all tell one another not to judge someone by their outer characteristics, but do they truly mean it? Well, i don't think so. I believe that people use that phrase because it makes them feel that they're doing a good deed for someone which, makes them feel happy about themselves. Don't get me wrong, not everyone thinks this way, but the majority of us does.
Most of us are hypocrites because we say don't judge someone, but then we do the complete opposite. It's just really sad because we should be better than that. We should respect and care for one another not for our appearances, but for the qualities that defines our character on the inside. I wish that as a community, we would be more like this. I bet that if it was like this, their would be less problems and more peace.

Sarah Dessen
WOW.. is all i have to say to describe this author. Sarah Dessen is one of my personal favorites. Her books are extraordinary and captivating. Every time i read one of her masterpieces i never want to put it down. i don't exactly know how to explain it, but her books always teaches me lessons about life, love, family and pretty much everything a teenager worries about. One book in particular, that i have read earlier this year was "Along for the Ride". It is about a teenager name Auden, who buries herself in her books and getting the perfect grades in school. she's not very socializing, meaning she keeps to herself alot.
Then, summer happened and she miraculously broke out of her shell. That summer changed her life forever and then some more. Auden learned more that summer than she ever did in her books . She learned how to take a breather, have fun, and still manage her education. It is definitely a book any teenager would want to read.. I guarantee that. On the other hand, i am currently reading another one of Sarah Dessen's books. It is called "Lock and Key", and i just know it will be thrill.

STUCK...
Hello bloggers! how are you today? As you probably know, i would like to pursue a career in writing when i am older. So i decided to write a book and well, i am not exactly getting anywhere right now. I started writing in october of 2009 and i am still stuck on chapter three. Yes, it's pathetic and yes, i do need to start writing again. I made the decision to write a book because one day i was thinking about my future and it suddenly stunned me that i never.. EVER finished anything that i started. How sad is that?
So lastnight at 3:30 or should i say earlier this morning, i had a talk with my sister and she motivated me to keep on writing because according to her " i will be an aweasome writer one day, who will make mad money." Eh, i am not too sure about that, but who knows what the future holds, right? Anyways, i think that i will continue writing my book this weekend and maybe, just maybe it will turn out the way i want it too. I shall keep you all updated when i am almost near the ending.. but for now goodbye!

SPRING =]
The flowers are blooming and the weather is warmer, which means spring is here and i couldn't be happier. Spring is my favorite season ever. It is not too cold nor is it too hot, it's just the perfect weather. Anyways, this weekend was very exciting. Yes, it was my birthday and i had a blast, of course. I went shopping with my friend and i saw two movies. I saw Remember me and Our family wedding. Wow, they were both surprisingly good. One is based on a tragic love story and the other is a comedy, full of laughter. So you must see it! Other than that, i did homework, read a book and studied. That was pretty much how i spent my weekend. How was yours by the way?
BY THE WAY, ONE WEEK UNTIL SPRING BREAK! YAY!

Parent Teachers conference
Yikes, confrontation day has come. My dad is coming tonight to meet my teachers for the second time. For the first time however, i am actually scared. For the past few weeks, i have been having set backs, which is not good at all for me. My dad will probably be a little angry but very disappointed. oh man, i don't know what i am going to tell him. Might as well just tell him the truth and rip the band aide off. Let's just hope it won't spoil my birthday plans. Well, goodbye people!

I cannot wait to get out of school because i want a frappucino very badly. Starbucks is the hot spot and it's also my favorite place to get a pick-me-up. Anyways, for the first time in a very long time, i actually enjoy being in school. Can you believe that? I just know it's because of the refreshing weather outside. So i shall go now. Goodbye!

Description of my blog:
Hello there, everyone.Let's just get right to the point and say my blogs varies from many different topics. For example, one day i would be going on and on about the latest book i have read and then, the next i would be talking about school or being bord. What i am basically saying is my blog does not serve it's purpose. It's "suppose" to be about my favorite books and movies, but most of the time it's about things way off topic, like superbowls, entertainment and news stories. Many would find my blogs entertaining and others may not because everyone has different interests and hobbies. However, you should check it out either way. Bye

Venetia's recommended blogs
There are three blogs in particular that i would reccomend you read. Alicia's blog is the first one that i choose. I think that she is such an amazing writer and when you read her blogs you will understand why i say that. Their is something about her writing that captivates my attention and personally, that does not happen all the time. Alicia's blogs are about fashion, music and most importantly, books. If you may not know me, let's just say that i am a book worm. So when anyone talk's about books, all my attention goes directly to that person. Well, after reading several of Alicia's blogs, i can say that she has read very intriguing books.
In addition, the second blog i choose is Afeerah's. In my opinion, as a friend of Afeerah's, i think that she is a wonderful person. She may not be the world's best writer, but her blogs can be ultimately interesting. Afeerah's blogs are based on the movies she has seen, news stories, and of course, entertainment, specifically singers that attracts her attention. For example, she wrote a blog about Michael Jackson that i felt was amazing, partly because i love Michael Jackson as well. I feel that Afeerah is a delightful writer.
To conclude, the third and final blog i choose is Mocha's. I choose her blog because it's unique. If you haven't seen her blog, then you obviously don't know what I am talking about. However, Mocha's blog is based on zodiac signs/astrology. I thought that was a creative idea and I don't believe that anyone else would have thought that. She talks about our horoscopes and what might possibly happen. It is very entertaining, so check it out.

Celebrities part two
What does America's obsession with celebrities' tell us about American culture? Why is America so captivated by the glitz and glamour of celebrities' lives? How vast of an impact do they have on us? Is there even a positive outcome of our fixation?
Well, our American culture today are incredibly obsessed with celebrities'. Everywhere you go in New York, you hear the whispers and the chit chats about celebrity calamities and the new controversy surrounding their lives. It's actually quite disturbing for celebrities because they have ordinary people, like one of us taking pictures of them, camping out by their houses and following them around. It's just very sad and unecessary. Many celebrities' children also, pay the consequences of living the good life because their childhood aren't exactly normal. They don't have the freedom that many of us children have. One of the many causes of this problem is of course, the paparazzi. They follow them around everywhere they go. The paparazzi can be very suffocating and that's why i believe that many celebrities throw tantrums because they are practically being smothered by cameras.
In addition, there are a few pros to America's obsession with celebrities'. It may seem sort of hard to believe, but celebrities' do have an impact on our culture. For example, many people who read the tablouts and magazines learns alot from celebrities'. Most of our younger generation look at what celebrities' do and they want to do the samethings. On the upside, these things are not necessairly bad. Some celebrities' are great romodels for kids in our day in age. One person who inspires me and many other people is Angelina Jolie. She is a fantastic actress and I believe a great mother. Ms. Jolie has done many amazing deeds like, helping the less fortunate and taking care of all her adoptive children. This motivates me to play an active role in my community, and help the less fortunate. I am positive that many people would say the same as well.
To conclude, I believe that Americans are obsessed with celebrities because they're wealthy and famous. They basically have everything a typical teenager or an adult may want. It's ridiculous but it's true. We are a celebrity crazed society and that's just the way it is.

Angelina jolie
Well, let's just say i don't have a favorite celebrity because there are so many great ones. One in specific is Angelina Jolie. She is an amazing actress and a very generous women. She has adopted so many children, whom were suffering and takes great care of them and her biological childdren as well. Angelina Jolie is unlike many celebrities and that's what makes her unique and amazing. She has a big heart and alot to offer and that's what inspires me about her. Many may say harsh and cruel things about her but from a fans point of view, i like her. I hope that she continues to help the less fortunate, which she most likely will do and keep on making great movies. Bravo Angelina!

Fame, money, power = celebrity
In my opinion, each and every celebrity that complains about the paparazzi's are stupid because they wanted fame in the first place. They should've known that fame comes with it's baggage, just like everything else does. Many people become so consumed by the media and upholding their reputations, that they make bad choices and it leads them into alot of problems. This, then becomes a controversy in the public eye and before you know it, pretty much everyone in America knows. Ridiculous huh? Yep, it definitely is. After reading Naomi Campbell's latest controversy, she has made yet another bad choice of judgement. If you may have heard, Campbell assaulted her chauffeur, but he is not pressing charges. That must be a relief for her. Well, Naomi Campbell is basically known for her bad choices. I believe that its imperative that she goes to counseling for anger management/therapy. She really needs help. However, this is no different from many other celebs whom have entered drug rehabs, sex rehabs, prison, etc. To conclude, i strongly believe that the fame, money, and power clouds peoples judgement and it leads them astray. This is unfortunately, the down side to being a celebrity.

Haiti and chile devastations
As many of you may have heard, on February 27,2010 a disasterous earthquake caused severe destruction to yet another country. Chile was that country, that unfortunately was hit by an 8.8 magnitude earthquake. This massive quake happened to be 500 times stronger than the 7.0 earthquake, that took atmost 200,000 Haitian lives in the last month. It has been of much debate, whether it's unfair that Haiti is recieving more aide than the South American country, Chile.
After reading articles, I learned that the death toll in Chile was approximately 800, while in Haiti the death toll was atleast 200,000. Yes, it is very sad indeed. It was stated that after an earthquake in 1985, the Chilean government made buildings earthquake-resistant, which is pretty clever. So when this tragedy took place, a very few structures collapsed fully. On the upside, a vast amount of civilans may have been left homeless, but atleast they survived, whichis the least i can say about Haiti. In my opinion, Haiti suffered a greater loss.
In addition, the country of Chile was well equipped in case of natural disasters. They were definately much more prepared for disasters than Haiti was. Also, the government was much more standardized and wealthier than Haiti. Thankfully, their are thousands of people that are helping the people of Haiti now, including many celebrities. The American redcross and the SOS Children's village are both lending a helping hand to these countries. If I must say, it's terrible that people are suffering from this disaster and I pray that they will all be able to recover. I hope that everyone, whom survived both of these earthquakes, will be able to recieve medical aide and anyother necessities they will need. I believe that people should not feel that it's unfair that Haiti is reciveing much more help than Chile because Haiti's situation is much more drastic than Chile's. Chile has indeed suffered, but atleast many people came out in one piece, which is not exactly samething you can say about the Haitians. However, I hope that in time all will be well again.

Life unexpected
Life Unexpected is one of the best shows on telivision. It revolves around the lives of two rookie parents and their fifteen year old daughter Lux. All her life, lux has been in various foster homes, until one day she decides to become an emancipated minor. This leads her to her biological father, Nate Bazile "Baze", who she realizes acts like a manchild and lives like a bachelor. Baze is shocked when he finds out he has a daughter he never knew of. Lux is equally astounded when she learns her mother is Cate Cassidy, a radio star. Life get's a little complicated when a judge denies Lux her emancipation and grants her biological parents temprorary custody of her.
This show stars Shiri Appleby as Cate Cassidy, Kristoffer Polaha as Baze and Britt Robertson as Lux. If you love drama like I do, you will love Life Unexpected. It's about second chances, family, and parents trying to be parents. It's an absolute heart warming show, so check it out Monday nights at 9:00 pm on the cw network.

Typical day at van
helloo fellow bloggers, today is not such a very good day. It's ugly outside and we are stuck in school. Not exactly the place anyone wants to be. I'm not feeling well today and i'm exhausted. I think i need a nap and some medication. That will make everything all better. I don't really have much to say besides that i'm reading three books right now and they're all really good. I guess that's about it. Laterr.

Schools invading students privacy
This topic is actually very interesting. I am curious as to know whether the school deleted the alleged evidence on the laptops or not. Students believe that the school did this purposely and of course they want justice. My question is why would the school even give students webcam laptops to take home? Did it not cross their minds that maybe, just maybe something can go wrong. I do not believ that the school did this because of the missing laptops. That is absolutely ridiculous. For now however, i will follow up on this story. -TTFN

Texting while driving...
For many years, texting while driving has a been a controversial issue in the united states. A vast amount of drivers get into accidents on a daily basis because of their texting addiction. In my opinion, i love texting, its a great way to kill time, but i would never text while driving. Their are many things that can go wrong when you are not paying attention on the road. So i reccommend that you stop now because anyone can get severly hurt.
1) The first cartoon apeals to me more because i think its more entertaining and i can see the cartoonist's point very clearly.
2) No,i cannot come up with any arguements against the opinion illustrated because i believe its wrong to text while driving. There are no ways to justify texting while driving because excuses wouldn't save your lives if something did happen to you. I honestly believe that if someone got into an accident, maybe then they would stop texting while driving. What i am trying to say is someone needs to be in a dire situation like that for them to really understand why they shouldnt text while driving. There are really no other ways to stop someone from texting while driving.
3) Drivers also search for things in their cars while they're driving and their eyes are'nt on the road. That is not safe at all. Behind the wheels drivers smoke, drink, eat, and eventalk on the phone. I think that phoning espescially should be banned because drivers sometimes pays more attention to their conversation on their phone, than on the road.

Tiger woods speech
So I watched the entire speech that tiger woods gave on Friday I believe. He apologized for his reckless behavior, but I don't believe that everyone bought it, espescially his former mistresses. On entertainment news, one of the alleged mistresses began crying because tiger woods did not apologize to the women he had secret affairs with. She thought that was cruel if him. In my opinion, I honestly do not know if to believe tiger woods sincere speech or not. Who knows, maybe he's not sorry for what he has done and for now, no one knows for sure. I guess that's all for now. -ttfn

Devastation in Congo part two
After reading the history of the rivalries between the the Hutus and the Tutsis, i can now understand why the genocide happened. It's very sad that the civilians have to suffer because of the Hutus invading the Tutsis land. The hutus soldiers are raping and murdering innocent people. I learned in the article that the UN are not doing anything to quell the violence, so the rebels continue to kill and take the country's riches, like gold, diamond, etc. I must say that this article is quite disturbing because their are people who knows about what's happening, but choose not to say anything because they care too much about the money they are recieving to stay quiet. Can you believe they're actually people like that in this world? No one ever deserves to be treated like a lower class, espescially good and decent people. It may seem impossible, but i can't help but hope that one day these people will live happily.

Devastation in Congo
Wow! This is all I can really say after reading that article about Genocide in Congo. I am astonished because those people have endured and suffered through so much. Those poor children...they have lost so much in so little time. I can't imagine what it feels like to loose a parent, much less both of them. I believe the saddest part of all was watching their loved ones being tortured and killed right infront of their eyes and not being able to help them because you are being raped. Can you honestly imagine what these helpless people are going through because I can't and the world is clueless about all of this. Someone needs to put an end to all of this because the innocent people of Congo does not deserve this. Those physcopaths are still out there and their hurting people. How can anyone live their lives, if they are in fear of what might happen to them? It's not fair and it's just cruel!!! I agree with the author of this article because I can see his point and most importantly, the people of Congo needs all the help, support and aid they can get right now. These people are definately in my prayers.

Teen mom
So I was watching a show called teen mom on MTV and I felt so bad for the girls. They're all really young with children. That's got to be stressful! Just by watching the show makes me depressed. Imagine how they must feel. I just hope that everything works out for them because many of the moms are going through alot right now. I guess that's all for now. -ttfn
The last song
so i finished "the last song" this past weekend and it was fantastic! It's definately one of the best books i ever read. Nicholas Sparks is a phenomenal writer. His books are all really great. Well, if you may not know, the last song is about a repulsive teenager name Ronnie, who sadly has to spend her summer with her father, who left when she was a freshmen in highschool. Well, as the story goes on, everything is not what it seems. Their are many suprises and a few heartbreaks. This book is definately worth reading, so go check it out now. -ttfn

The tragic earthquake that destroyed Haiti:
Two days ago, tragedy struck Haiti. A humongous earthquake destroyed the country, leaving many homless with no food, shelter, clothing and other neccessities. It was absolutely horrible because tons of children died and many loved ones were left alone. I cant imagine what it would be like if that happened in New York. That is why we should all lend a helping hand right now..
